Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Shelby). They blew past the Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy Gryphons 23-8 on Friday. The Golden Lions haven't had any issues with the Gryphons recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Autumn Mathis was a standout: she scored four runs and stole five bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those five stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Julianna Vaughan, who scored four runs and stole five bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Shelby always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .889. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .571 or higher in four consecutive matchups.

Shelby's win bumped their record up to 2-11. As for Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-8.
