Basketball Recap: Chase Trojans vs. Hendersonville Bearcats
This season hasn't been kind to the Chase Trojans, who are still winless after their 18th game. They took a serious blow against Hendersonville on Friday, falling 76-25. Chase has not had much luck with the Bearcats recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Leading Hendersonville to victory were Cj Landrum and Malachi Simpson. Landrum scored 16 points, while Simpson scored 17 points along with three steals. Simpson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jordan Lynch, who scored five points along with five assists and three steals.
Chase dropped their record down to 0-18 with that defeat, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Hendersonville, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-6.
Chase will head out on the road to face off against the Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Brevard knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully the Trojans like a good challenge. As for Hendersonville, they will be playing at home against the Cavaliers at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully East Rutherford focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday.
