Lakeland is 2-8 against Old Forge since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Chiefs are taking a road trip to take on the Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m. Lakeland is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.
Riverside hit Lakeland with a five-run first inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Chiefs fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 10-9.
Meanwhile, Old Forge won against Western Wayne on Monday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Blue Devils were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over Dunmore. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Bucks recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
Kamryn Notari made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season.
In other batting news, Ariana Davitt was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. She continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kate O'Hearn, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Old Forge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in five consecutive games.
Lakeland's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Old Forge, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Lakeland hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .367. However, it's not like Old Forge struggles in that department as they've averaged .322. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Lakeland suffered a grim 11-4 defeat to Old Forge when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Can the Chiefs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
