Football Game Preview: York Suburban Trojans vs. Kennard-Dale Rams

The York Suburban Trojans will challenge the Kennard-Dale Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Kennard-Dale took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on York Suburban, who comes in off a win.

York Suburban is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They walked away with a 29-21 victory over Susquehannock on Friday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Trojans as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

York Suburban's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Taza Sweeney led the charge by rushing for 167 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Sweeney also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making six total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending one pass.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: York Suburban was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 234 rushing yards. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 81.8 rushing yards per game earlier this season, but in their last five contests they've averaged 168.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Kennard-Dale's offense. They took a blow against New Oxford on Friday, falling 46-0. The Rams have struggled against the Colonials recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Kennard-Dale now has a losing record of 3-4. As for York Suburban, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-5.
