Basketball Game Preview: Caravel Buccaneers vs. Hodgson Vo-Tech Eagles

Two dominant guards in Cherish Bryant and Hope Smith are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Caravel Buccaneers will host the Hodgson Vo-Tech Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Wednesday, Caravel strolled past Woodbridge with points to spare, taking the game 58-39. The Buccaneers haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and Hodgson Vo-Tech had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 39-32 victory over Delmarva Christian on Monday. The win was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on three straight.

Caravel better keep an eye on Marissa Isbell. She was instrumental in Hodgson Vo-Tech's win, on her way to 14 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals. Isbell has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last three times she's played. Smith was another key player, putting up eight points along with ten boards and three steals.

Caravel's victory bumped their record up to 17-3. As for Hodgson Vo-Tech, their win bumped their record up to 14-7.

Caravel was able to grind out a solid victory over Hodgson Vo-Tech in their previous matchup back in December of 2016, winning 46-35. Does Caravel have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hodgson Vo-Tech turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
