Baseball Recap: Berrien Springs Has No Trouble Against Dowagiac

Berrien Springs won the last time they faced Dowagiac and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Shamrocks put the hurt on the Chieftains with a sharp 15-3 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Shamrocks.

Ethan Tripp was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Berrien Springs got a massive performance out of Micah Mcfarland, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Mcfarland a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Matt Ferry, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Berrien Springs always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dowagiac only posted an OBP of .455.

Berrien Springs' victory bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Dowagiac, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-13.

Berrien Springs will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Chieftains: the pair will be back at it again later today.
