Softball Recap: To'hajiilee Comes Up Short

To'hajiilee extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 12 on Thursday, dropping them down to 0-8. They lost 23-0 to the Rehoboth Christian Lynx. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lynx this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-0 on Thursday.

As for Rehoboth Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 17 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.8 runs over those games.

For Rehoboth Christian's part, Sage West made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). West was even better at the plate, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and one stolen base while going 3-for-3. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Zyanne Nelson was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Miyah Livingston was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

To'hajiilee does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rehoboth Christian, they will face off against Estancia at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Lynx will need to watch out since the Bears have now posted at least ten runs in their last nine games.
