Basketball Recap: Antonio Westfield's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Cleveland over Mcminn County

Cleveland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 53-41 to the McMinn County Cherokees. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cherokees this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 71-61 back in January.

Several Blue Raiders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Antonio Westfield, who went 6-for-15 on his way to 16 points and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Tim Matthews, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten rebounds.

Cleveland's defeat dropped their record down to 11-11. As for McMinn County, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-10.

Cleveland didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 76-49 loss against Bradley Central on the 8th. McMinn County has also already played their next contest (against Alcoa), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
