Baseball Recap: Three Rivers Takes a Loss

Refugio hit Three Rivers with a four-run third inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Bobcats by a score of 7-6. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Bobcats recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Three Rivers saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lathan Meyer, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That double marked the first that Meyer has hit this season. Another was Evin Sheppard, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Three Rivers now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Refugio, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Looking ahead, Three Rivers will be playing at home against Stockdale at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Refugio, they will challenge Mathis at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
