Strasburg takes loss despite strong efforts from Peighton Marrero and Natalie Damron

Recap: Strasburg Indians vs. Highland Huskies

After flying high against the Rocky Ford Meloneers on Saturday, the Strasburg Indians came back down to earth. Strasburg took a 57-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Highland. Strasburg has not had much luck with Highland recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Strasburg's loss on Tuesday came despite strong showings from Natalie Damron and Peighton Marrero. Damron dropped a double-double on 13 points and 18 rebounds, while Marrero scored 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Those 18 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Katherine Seligmann, who scored seven points along with 13 rebounds.

Strasburg has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Highland, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Strasburg will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Ellicott at 6:00 p.m. on January 11th. Ellicott will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. Highland will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Liberty Common at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th.
