Softball Recap: Pleasant Grove Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Pleasant Grove couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They came up short against the Bingham Miners on Tuesday, falling 11-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Vikings in their meetings with the Miners: they've now lost six in a row.

Pleasant Grove saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aniston Norton, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Pleasant Grove's loss dropped their record down to 23-7. As for Bingham, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a massive bump to their 20-8-2 record this season.

Pleasant Grove will face off against Westlake at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Thunder's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Vikings' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Bingham, they will challenge Mountain Ridge at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Sentinels will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Miners surely won't give up without a fight.
