Softball Recap: Madera Victorious

Madera had won three straight on the road, but on Friday they bumped up to 17-9 to make it four. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over the Sanger Apaches. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-1 back in April.

As for Sanger, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss they have suffered since March 11th.

For Sanger's part, Carolyn Kelzer made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Samantha Santibanes also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Coincidentally, Madera and Sanger will both be playing Bullard the next time they take the field. The Coyotes will head out to face the Knights at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Apaches will head out to face them at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
