Basketball Game Preview: Parkway Christian Eagles vs. Whitmore Lake Trojans

Parkway Christian is 0-7 against Whitmore Lake since December of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Parkway Christian Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Whitmore Lake Trojans at 6:00 p.m. Parkway Christian will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Parkway Christian is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Southfield Christian: they outscored them in every quarter. Parkway Christian enjoyed a cozy 49-31 victory over Southfield Christian on Tuesday.

Parkway Christian's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Tamerah Peterson, who posted 23 points along with eight steals and six rebounds, and Angelina Marchesi, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 17 boards. Peterson has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 36 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kailey Chapa, who earned two points and three steals.

Parkway Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 25 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Whitmore Lake unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 39-38 to Lutheran.

Parkway Christian's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-9. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.7 points per game. As for Whitmore Lake, their loss dropped their record down to 11-3.

Parkway Christian might still be hurting after the 54-28 defeat they got from Whitmore Lake when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can Parkway Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
