Basketball Recap: Moberly Takes a Loss

Moberly was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a blow against the Hannibal Pirates, falling 66-19. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 277th, while the Pirates are ranked 84th).

Moberly's defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-5. As for Hannibal, their victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1.

Moberly will take on Marshall in a holiday battle at at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Hannibal, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 66-57 loss against Mexico on the 19th.
