Soccer Game Preview: Pinckneyville vs. Richland County

Pinckneyville is 0-3 against Richland County since May of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Panthers will look to defend their home pitch against the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. Pinckneyville will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

While Pinckneyville's win against Mt. Vernon wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Panthers never let the Rams get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Thursday. Give Pinckneyville's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Hannah Halsted, who's now up to 20 this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Richland County). They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over Mt. Carmel last Monday. The high-scoring effort was just what Richland County needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Pinckneyville pushed their record up to 12-6-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those three games. As for Richland County, their win bumped their record up to 7-4-1.
