Baseball Game Preview: Westmoreland Eagles vs. Smith County Owls

The Westmoreland Eagles will head out to face off against the Smith County Owls on Wednesday.

Westmoreland fell victim to White House-Heritage and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They came up short against the Patriots, falling 10-0. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Eagles' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Smith County got themselves on the board against Sequatchie County on Saturday, but Sequatchie County never followed suit. They walked away with a 3-0 win over the Indians. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Owls.

Westmoreland's defeat dropped their record down to 16-16. As for Smith County, their victory bumped their record up to 19-12.

Westmoreland might still be hurting after the 13-2 loss they got from Smith County when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
