Burlington and Fowler are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2022, but likely not for long. The Cougars will look to defend their home field on Saturday against the Grizzlies at 11:00 a.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Burlington barely beat Goodland the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cougars never let the Cowboys get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Tuesday. The Cougars not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 20, 2024.

Lenny Ramirez made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 6.5 strikeouts per game. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Erik Cano, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. Darian McDonough was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Burlington was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, the third road game was the charm for Fowler, as they earned their first away win of the season. They skirted past Swink 7-6. The Grizzlies haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Like Burlington, Fowler also got a great game from a two-way player: Brock True. On the mound, he pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. True has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Weston Johnson was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Montoya, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
The win got Burlington back to even at 2-2. As for Fowler, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 4-2.
