Volleyball Recap: Cherokee County Warriors vs. Alexandria Valley Cubs

Cherokee County had already won seven in a row and they went ahead and made it eight on Thursday. They had just enough and edged the Alexandria Valley Cubs out 3-2. This was payback for the Warriors, who suffered a 3-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (108-99) Cherokee County actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The final score came out to 25-23, 22-25, 25-23, 12-25, 15-12.

Cherokee County found their leader in underclassman Jesslyn Hincy, who had 17 digs and two aces. Those 17 digs set a new season-high mark for Hincy.

Cherokee County has been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 40-13 record this season. As for Alexandria, they moved to 37-14 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.
