Baseball Recap: Richton Comes Up Short

Richton was the 8-0 winner over North Forrest when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Richton Rebels lost 14-7 to the North Forrest Eagles on Tuesday. The Rebels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Wyatt Cochran made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brock Pearson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Even though they lost, Richton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .350 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Richton's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-9. As for North Forrest, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-4.

Coming up, Richton will face off against Northeast Jones at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Richton has given up an average of 9.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for North Forrest, they will square off against Richton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
