Volleyball Recap: Eastern Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Eastern couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Triton Central Tigers on Saturday. The Musketeers' defeat signaled the end of their 14-game winning streak.

Avery Smith paced Eastern's offense, picking up 22 kills. Smith got some help from Addison Smith and her 26 assists. Finally, Addison was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high five blocks.

Eastern's loss dropped their record down to 30-6. As for Triton Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-8 record this season.

Eastern does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Triton Central, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Barr-Reeve on the 1st.
