Basketball Recap: North Bend Central Takes a Loss

North Bend Central lost against Wayne back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The North Bend Central Tigers fell to the Wayne Blue Devils 43-37. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 19th).

Wayne's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Colson Nelsen led the charge by putting up 13 points. Jaxson Kneifl also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

North Bend Central's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Wayne, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-2.

North Bend Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 93-45 win against Wisner-Pilger on the 1st. As for Wayne, they will take on Guardian Angels Central Catholic in a tournament on Tuesday. Wayne is facing Guardian Angels Central Catholic at the right time seeing as Guardian Angels Central Catholic is stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
