Softball Recap: Roncalli Wins Going Away Against Ben Davis

Ten must be Roncalli's lucky number: they beat Ben Davis with that score not once but twice on Saturday. The Royals blew past the Giants 10-4. The Royals haven't had any issues with the Giants recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Roncalli got a massive performance out of Bennie Leffler, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI Leffler has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Curtis, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Roncalli kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in three consecutive games.

Roncalli's record is now 19-4. As for Ben Davis, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-10 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Roncalli will face off against Franklin Central at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Flashes will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Royals surely won't give up without a fight. As for Ben Davis, they will take on North Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Giants are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
