Basketball Recap: Layla Anderson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Old Mill over Severna Park

Old Mill lost against Severna Park back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Old Mill Patriots received a blow as they fell 44-27 to the Severna Park Falcons. The contest marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Old Mill's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Layla Anderson, who posted ten points and three steals. Charlee Hamilton was another key player, putting up ten points.

Old Mill has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season. As for Severna Park, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Old Mill wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 46-27 defeat against Chesapeake on the 31st. As for Severna Park, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 61-17 win against Severn Run on the 28th.
