Softball Recap: Coahoma Takes Down Henrietta in a Playoff Battle

Coahoma extended their postseason success on Friday against Henrietta. They walked away with a 4-0 win over the Bearcats. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last four matchups.

Hannah Wells was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 18 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run.

Wells wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Addi Hart, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.

Coahoma's victory was their 33rd straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 30-0. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team's won by an average of 10.7 runs thus far. As for Henrietta, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 22-7.

Coming up, Coahoma will face off against Jacksboro on Saturday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight. Henrietta does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
