Basketball Recap: Northwest Comes Up Short

Northwest and Gretna East squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Northwest had to settle for second. They were dealt a 58-26 loss at the hands of the Gretna East Griffins. The Vikings were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-11.

Despite the loss, Northwest still got an impressive performance from Reagan Mcintyre, who posted 17 points. Mcintyre has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.

Northwest's defeat dropped their record down to 17-9. As for Gretna East, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.

Northwest does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Gretna East, they have already played their next matchup, a 35-28 win against Pius X on the 6th.
