Baseball Recap: Fort Morgan Has No Trouble Against Skyview

While Fort Morgan put up plenty of runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Skyview. Everything went the Fort Morgan Mustangs' way against the Skyview Wolverines as the Fort Morgan Mustangs made off with a 14-0 victory. The Mustangs have beaten the Wolverines the last eight times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Wolverines has come to flipping the script.

JJ Marquez looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Iziah Ortiz was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Jadin Carrera, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Fort Morgan's win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Fort Morgan will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Greeley Central at 10:00 a.m. on March 21st. As for Skyview, they will head out to square off against Longmont at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
