Softball Recap: St. George's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak on the Road

St. George dropped their record down to 11-11 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins on the road. They lost 11-1 to the Northpoint Christian Trojans. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Gryphons couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Northpoint Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games.

For Northpoint Christian's part, the team relied heavily on Josie Beth Smith, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI. Those three runs gave Smith a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ella Myrick, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple.

St. George's has already played their next matchup, a 5-1 defeat against Columbia Academy on the 10th. As for Northpoint Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 7-4 victory against University School of Jackson on the 6th.
