Softball Recap: St. George's Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

St. George dropped their record down to 8-10 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins on the road. They came up short against the Northpoint Christian Trojans, falling 11-1. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Gryphons couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Northpoint Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games.

For Northpoint Christian's part, the team relied heavily on Josie Beth Smith, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI. Those three runs gave Smith a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ella Myrick, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple.

St. George's does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Northpoint Christian, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-4 victory against University School of Jackson on the 6th.
