Basketball Recap: Lamar Comes Up Short

Lamar was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 65-40 to the Simpson Academy Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 201st, while the Cougars are ranked 35th).

Lamar's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Simpson Academy, they pushed their record up to 16-1 with the win, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Park Place Christian Academy the next time they take the court. Simpson Academy will host Park Place Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Lamar will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on January 21st.
