Softball Preview: Yucca Valley Trojans vs. Xavier Prep Saints        
        
		
            The Yucca Valley Trojans will venture away from home to  take on the Xavier Prep Saints  at 3:30  p.m.  on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Yucca Valley has four straight  victories, Xavier Prep has ten straight  losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Wednesday, Yucca Valley got the win against Garey  by a conclusive  12-4. Considering the Trojans have won five games by more than seven  runs this season, Wednesday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Alyssa Ramos made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she  pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned  (and three unearned) runs off   four  hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run while  getting on base  in two of her five plate appearances.

 In other batting news,  Tayla Monroy was a standout: she got on base  in all four of her plate appearances with five  RBI, one  triple,  and one  double. The dominant performance gave  her a new career-high in  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Hannah Cusack, who  scored three  runs and  stole  Two bases. while going 4-for-4.
 Yucca Valley  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 11  hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  got at least 11  hits in three consecutive  matchups.
 Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Xavier Prep's offense. They came up short against  Shadow Hills on Friday, falling  24-0.
 Yucca Valley now  has a winning record of 6-5. As for Xavier Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9.
 Everything went Yucca Valley's way against Xavier Prep when the teams last played  back in February of 2024, as Yucca Valley made off with  a  20-9 win. Does  Yucca Valley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Xavier Prep turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
