Basketball Recap: Millers Creek Christian Falls Despite Big Games from Elijah Mcclain and Julian Houpe

Millers Creek Christian lost against Sheets Memorial Christian back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Millers Creek Christian Lions came up short against the Sheets Memorial Christian Eagles, falling 64-44.

Despite the loss, Millers Creek Christian had strong showings from Julian Houpe, who went 8-for-15 on his way to 19 points, and Elijah McClain, who posted ten points. The dominant performance also gave McClain a new career-high in rebounds (three).

Sheets Memorial Christian found their leader in sophomore Finn Everhart, who went 14-for-28 to rack up 31 points in addition to seven boards and six steals. Those 31 points set a new season-high mark for Everhart. Another player making a difference was Aiden McMahan, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds.

Millers Creek Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Sheets Memorial Christian, they pushed their record up to 9-11 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.
