Basketball Recap: Teague Skates Past a Plus Academy with Ease

Teague's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They breezed by the A Plus Academy Knights to the tune of 71-39. The Lions' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Teague's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brayden Leija led the charge by going 7 for 10 on his way to 18 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. That's the most boards Leija has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Zak Leija, who went 6 of 9 on his way to 13 points in addition to seven boards and four steals.

Teague was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Teague's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for A Plus Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

Teague wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 44-34 loss against Scurry-Rosser on the 14th. As for A Plus Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 41-30 defeat against Elkhart on the 14th.
