Basketball Recap: Garrison Comes Up Short

Garrison extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 16 on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-15. They were beaten by the Joaquin Rams 62-31. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2025.

As for Joaquin, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-10. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points over those games.

Joaquin found their leader in sophomore Jessie Webb, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and 12 boards. Those 12 rebounds set a new season-high mark for Webb. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellie Anglin, who posted 11 points in addition to seven boards and five steals.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Garrison will take on rival Waskom at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Joaquin is set to square off against their familiar foe Gary at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
