Softball Game Preview: Moulton Bobkatz vs. Incarnate Word Academy Angels

The Moulton Bobkatz will face off against the Incarnate Word Academy Angels at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Tuesday, Moulton made easy work of Louise and carried off a 20-2 win. The Bobkatz haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Incarnate Word Academy got themselves on the board against Geneva on Tuesday, but Geneva never followed suit. They blew past the Eagles 9-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Angels.

Arisela Perez made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Harper Phillips was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Kam Bean, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one double.

Moulton's win bumped their record up to 9-12. As for Incarnate Word Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 21-3-1.
