Baseball Recap: St. Joseph-By-The-Sea Snags 16th Victory in Last 18 Games

After only one run in their last game, St. Joseph-by-the-Sea made sure to put some runs up on the board against St. Peter on Friday. The Vikings walked away with a 10-5 victory over the Eagles. Considering the Vikings' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

The team relied heavily on Anthony DePetro, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Molinini, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: St. Joseph-by-the-Sea kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

St. Joseph-by-the-Sea has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 18 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for St. Peter's, they moved to 18-7 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
