Softball Recap: Lynchburg-Clay Extends Winning Streak to Four

Lynchburg-Clay had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Peebles Indians with a sharp 12-2 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-3 on Monday.

Aubrey Roberts spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lynchburg-Clay saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noel Barnhill, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. That's the most hits Barnhill has posted since back in March. Another was Lily Ferguson, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Lynchburg-Clay kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Peebles only managed seven hits.

Lynchburg-Clay's record is now 12-3. As for Peebles, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.

Lynchburg-Clay has already played their next game (against Whiteoak), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Peebles, they have also already played their next matchup, a 6-2 defeat against Southeastern on the 24th.
