Softball Recap: Hillcrest Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Hillcrest had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against the Riverside Warriors. This was payback for the Rams, who suffered a 15-14 defeat the last time these two teams met.

The team relied heavily on Tatum Lane, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. Lillian Lane also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Tatum wasn't the only one making solid contact: Hillcrest kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in four consecutive matches.

Hillcrest's record now sits at 6-8. As for Riverside, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Hillcrest has already played their next game, a 6-2 win against Greenville on the 4th. As for Riverside, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-1 loss against Dorman on the 4th.
