Football Game Preview: Mart Panthers vs. Bremond Tigers

Two dominant backs in Ah'Maad Scott and Tank Scott are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Mart Panthers will take on the Bremond Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 1,065 yards in their previous games.

Mart is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They walked away with a 45-32 victory over Lovelady. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.

Mart's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ayden Lauderdale, who threw for 176 yards and two TDs on only 14 passes. Lauderdale's passing game has become a key predictor of the Panthers' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 3-5 otherwise. Carmelo Medlock helped Lauderdale out on the ground, rushing for 78 yards and one touchdown.

Mart was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 480 rushing yards. They are a perfect 7-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Bremond's strategy against Grapeland on Friday. The Tigers blew past the Sandies 53-32. Considering the Tigers have won ten contests by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Mart better keep an eye on Tyriq Scott. He was instrumental in Bremond's win, rushing for 86 yards and one score on only seven carries.

Mart's record is now 7-5. As for Bremond, their record now sits at 12-0.

Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Mart has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 226.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Bremond struggles in that department as they've been averaging 247.1 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.

Mart came up short against Bremond in their previous meeting back in September, falling 28-20. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Scott, who rushed for 342 yards and four TDs while picking up 12.7 yards per carry.
