Volleyball Recap: Hartford's Run of Four Straight Wins Now Over

After flying high against Montpelier on Monday, Hartford came back down to earth. The Hurricanes fell just short of the Middlebury Tigers by a score of 3-2 on Saturday. The Hurricanes' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Hartford wouldn't go down easily and took Middlebury into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-20, 25-20, 22-25, 16-14.

Hartford's loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Middlebury, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Hartford is set to take on their familiar foe Missisquoi Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Middlebury will square off against rival Harwood at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
