Basketball Recap: Cisco Llamas Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Catalina Foothills + How To Watch

On Tuesday Sahuaro's undefeated season almost came to an end. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Catalina Foothills Falcons, sneaking past 73-70. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while the Falcons are ranked 64th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sahuaro's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cisco Llamas led the charge by shooting 43% from the field en route to 27 points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists. Llamas has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 23 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Isaac Teasley, who went 7-for-17 on his way to 19 points and four steals.

Luke Franco and Jack Van Amburg certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Franco shot 63% from the field to rack up 15 points, while Van Amburg posted nine points along with six assists and three steals. Logan Purdy also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Sahuaro's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Catalina Foothills, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.

Sahuaro wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 79-45 win against Pueblo on the 10th. As for Catalina Foothills, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Downey at 5:30 p.m. on the 26th.
