Preview: Athenian Owls vs. College Prep Cougars
The Athenian Owls will be playing in front of their home fans against the College Prep Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Athenian is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than College Prep in California (Athenian is ranked 316th, while College Prep is ranked 694th).
Athenian can now show off 12 landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 59-37 margin over Bentley.
Athenian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Surya Devasenapathy, who scored 17 points. Another player making a difference was Noah Olivier, who scored 15 points.
Meanwhile, College Prep's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They were the victim of a tough 75-52 loss at the hands of Head-Royce. College Prep has not had much luck with Head-Royce recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Athenian is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. As for College Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 12-9.
Athenian strolled past College Prep in their previous meeting on Thursday by a score of 52-37. Does Athenian have another victory up their sleeve, or will College Prep turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
