Softball Recap: Friday's Defeat Ends Livingston's Winning Streak

Livingston dropped their record down to 16-7 on Friday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Beyer Patriots by a score of 4-2. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Wolves couldn't push the score so high this time.

Livingston saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Olivia Costa, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

As for Beyer, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games.

On Beyer's side, Jordyn Lish spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up ten Ks. Lish has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Destiny Pitts, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
