Basketball Game Preview: Westmoreland Eagles vs. Liberty Creek Wolves

The Westmoreland Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Liberty Creek Wolves at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Westmoreland faced off against Merrol Hyde Magnet on Tuesday. Westmoreland took down Merrol Hyde Magnet 60-46. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Meanwhile, Liberty Creek entered their tilt with Cheatham County Central on Tuesday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Everything went their way against the Cubs as they made off with a 53-31 win. The Wolves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 20 points or more this season.

Westmoreland pushed their record up to 12-8 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for Liberty Creek, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.

Westmoreland ended up a good deal behind Liberty Creek when the teams last played back in January, losing 58-39. Can Westmoreland avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
