Baseball Recap: Greater Vision Academy Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Greater Vision Academy came into Friday's match having lost 11 straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 13-8 win over the Liberty Christian Patriots on Friday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Lions needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Seth Russell was a standout: he scored a run and stole Four bases. while going 2-for-3. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Krastyn Allred was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Greater Vision Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Liberty Christian only posted an OBP of .458.

The victory got Greater Vision Academy back to even at 1-1. As for Liberty Christian, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Greater Vision Academy will take on Walkertown at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing isn't great for Greater Vision Academy: they have been struggling with six straight losses at home dating back to last season, while Walkertown has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road. As for Liberty Christian, they will host Alamance Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
