Recap: Big Walnut Golden Eagles vs. Lake Blue Streaks
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The Big Walnut Golden Eagles, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 21-20 to Lake. Big Walnut's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Jake Nier rushed for 17 yards and two touchdowns. On the ground, Nathan Severs rushed for 73 yards and a touchdown.
Big Walnut's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Lake, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-3.
Big Walnut does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Lake will square off against Washington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Washington knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matches -- so hopefully Lake likes a good challenge.
