Basketball Recap: Gibbs Takes a Loss

Gibbs was the 67-60 winner over Jefferson County when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Gibbs Eagles were beaten by the Jefferson County Patriots 70-34 on Saturday. The match marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Zack Turner and Brady Hughes certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Turner posted ten points and four steals, while Hughes put up eight points. Turner has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last eight times he's played.

Gibbs has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Jefferson County, their win bumped their record up to 10-6.

Gibbs didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 97-68 victory against Jellico on the 30th. As for Jefferson County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 65-64 win against King's Academy on the 30th.
