Volleyball Recap: Lafayette County Extends Winning Streak to Five

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Lafayette County had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They put the hurt on the West Platte Bluejays with a sharp 3-0 win. This was payback for the Huskers, who suffered a 3-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

Sophie Frank paced Lafayette County's offense, picking up 15 kills. Frank got some help from Katie Draisey and her 23 assists. Frank was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

The victory (which was Lafayette County's fifth in a row) raised their record to 24-6-2. As for West Platte, they moved to 21-16-2 with that defeat, which also ended their four-match winning streak.

Lafayette County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against East Buchanan on the 1st. West Platte does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
