Basketball Game Preview: Chaney Cowboys vs. McKinley Red Dragons

The Chaney Cowboys are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season. they will face off against the McKinley Red Dragons at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams were dealt some close losses in their previous games and are determined not to let this one get away.

Chaney is headed into the match having just suffered their closest loss since February 16, 2024 on Saturday. They fell just short of Archbishop Hoban by a score of 57-55. While losing is never fun, the Cowboys can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 177th, while the Knights are ranked 17th).

Meanwhile, McKinley didn't have quite enough to beat Liberty on Saturday and fell 43-41. The Red Dragons haven't had much luck with the Leopards recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

McKinley's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Chaney, they now have a losing record at 3-4.

Everything came up roses for Chaney against McKinley in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 75-35 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Chaney since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
