Football Recap: Norristown Eagles vs. Phoenixville Phantoms
Norristown lost to Phoenixville back in September of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Eagles secured a 20-14 W over the Phantoms.
A big part of Norristown's win came down to the chemistry between Gregory Thompson and his top target Joseph Melonson. Thompson threw for 146 yards and three TDs while Melonson picked up 110 receiving yards and three scores. Melonson got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 60 yards.
Phoenixville lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Cameron Howard, who rushed for 140 yards while picking up 8.8 yards per carry, and also picked up 62 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was Michael Venezia, who rushed for 59 yards and one touchdown.
