Baseball Recap: Shepherd Takes a Loss

Shepherd's tournament run continued when they took on Sterling on Thursday. The Shepherd Pirates took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sterling Rangers. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Shepherd saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Landen Dellinger, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. Those two hits gave Dellinger a new career-high.

Shepherd now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Sterling, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-6.

Looking ahead, Shepherd will challenge South Houston at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. Sterling has already played their next game (against Oak Ridge), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
